SPLENIC ARTERY ANEURYSM, LE VAN TAI- VO NGUYEN THANH NHAN, MEDIC MEDICAL CENTER, HCMC, VIETNAM

In treatment for HBV infection, a 63-year-old female patient spent her time in an ultrasound examination in routine. She had got no pain in her LUQ but having a slight splenomegaly in length of 125mm, and her liver with irregular borders, and coarse structure. The portal vein had a hepatopedal flow with a decreased velocity of 13cm/sec.
Ultrasound detected a small rounded structure at the hilum of her spleen with the dimension of 20x13mm. This round structure had turbulent blood flow with the yin-yang sign and the pulsatile spectral wave.
64 MSCT confirmed it belonged the splenic artery with 2 aneurysms 19 and 11mm in diameters respectively.
This is an asymptomatic true aneurysm of splenic artery on a portal hypertension female patient that was by chance detected by color Doppler ultrasound.
