Perforated Gastric Ulcer, Nguyen Thien Hung, Medic Medical Center, HCMC Vietnam

Male patient 30yo, worker. Epigastric pain for 1 month, applied conventional gastric treatment. Critical pain in RUQ region suddenly happened one day from 05:00pm still 02:00am next day. Ultrasound detected 1.5cm in diameter ulcer at bulb of his stomach with free fluid and free air into his abdomen. X-rays plain film was normal, no air crescent subdiaphragm. Perforated gastric ulcer was comfirmed by surgery in the same day.

We have 08 cases ulcer gastric perforation in 2002-2007 which were detected pre op by ultrasound. Althought it is a supplement procedure of imaging diagnosis, ultrasound has his real task in some emergency cases.
