BLUNT TRAUMA to the PANCREAS, NGUYEN THIEN HUNG, MEDIC MEDICAL CENTER, HCMC, VIETNAM






After suffering from tremendous abdominal pain for 24 hours due to a traffic accident, a 42 year-old female was transferred to our facility.



Ultrasound detected a hematoma at the pancreas body. The main duct of the gland, confirmed by MSCT 64, remains intact and approximately one liter of fluid has been found in the abdominal cavity and around the pancreas tail. Based on the images obtained via ultrasound and that of MSCT 64, the mentioned blunt trauma has been classified degree 1.



The patient was in stable condition and there no surgery indication was found necessary.
